BluePrint on Ageing and Respect for Older People

Developing a BluePrint on Respect for Older Australians is a program we are launching in 2026. We believe we need a BluePrint to clarify what respect for older people looks like - and how it can be achieved. A BluePrint is a framework or map identifying the actions required for respect. Its about articulating the values that define and shape the way we view and treat older people.

Developing a BluePrint is not just about the end product (the map) it is also about the process of reflecting on how older people matter. The process is an outcome. We are taking an Appreciative Inquiry approach, or identifying 'what works' in relation to respect for older people - and then working to strengthen or improve it.

We are starting our BluePrint with an exploration at the 2026 Embolden Festival (an announcement about that soon) and a BluePrint on Respect for Older Women in Victoria.
