The Dictionary

The Dictionary of Ageism explores ageist words, terms and phrases and their meanings. The Dictionary also explores the ageist use of words and the ways words can be used to build respect for older people. The aim of the Dictionary is to make gerontism (the form of ageism experienced by older people) visible and combat it.

We have been working on this for a few years .... and look forward to launching our webpage in January 2026.
.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present.
