The inaugural Festival of Love and Dementia was held in Perth (see information below) and in September 2026 we will announce a plan to celebrate 10 years of the Museum through a national roll out of LoveFest.
- Reduce stigma and discrimination for people living with dementia and their families/friends by increasing community members understanding of dementia
- Promote connection for people living with dementia and their family/friends by raising awareness of dementia love skills
- Build interest in establishing Dementia-Friendly Communities.

Festival principles
- Building capability in local communities
- Promoting co-leadership by people living with dementia and their family/friends
- Establishing a Festival Advisory Group to organise the event and promote engagement of the local community
- Privileging the voices of people living with dementia and their family/friends
- Hosting a Small Acts of Love workshop at each Festival – as well as one other project from the Museum of Love collection
- Providing information on local support and advocacy services
- Engaging local media to raise community awareness
- Documenting a resource that includes resources from the festival such as letters, photographs, stories and a list of advocacy and support services for people living with dementia and their families/friends
- Harnessing momentum from the festival to build interest in establishing to a Dementia Friendly Community.[1]

LoveFest Perth
The inaugural LoveFest was bought to Perth by GRAI with the support of the City of Melville, Alzheimer's WA, The Care Side, Hall and Prior Health and Aged Care Group, Chorus, SouthCare, Garden City Shopping Centre, Heart to Heart Connections, Consultivation and Lisa White, The Social Photographer.
