LoveFest - Festivals of Love and Dementia

ovefest captures the essence of the Museum of Love and explores what it means to local communities. It privileges the voices of people with dementia and their family. Lovefest uses narrative and art based approaches to engage local community members and service providers in creating dementia friendly communities and services. It identifies local champions and funding sources; talks to local people living with dementia (their family and friends) about their ideas; and produces resources relevant to local people. Lovefest activities include:
  1. Small Acts of Love: presentations by people with dementia, their family and friends exploring the importance and nature of love - the challenges and response strategies.
  2. The Kiss: portraits of local people living with dementia kissing a person they love
  3. Letters of Love & Dementia: writing letters to people with dementia
  4. The Mirror: photographs of people with dementia living their lives
  5. Dance: a workshop exploring the importance of belonging
  6. Bowery: a collection of information about great local services for people with dementia and their families and friends.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present.
