Projecting Beauty
Projecting beauty is a concept that emerged from #OldisBeautiful workshops in which older people were asked to share what the term beautiful meant to them and what made them beautiful. A strong theme emerging from the responses is that beauty is the character of a person - or - a light within that is visible on the outside.
Projecting beauty explores beauty as a light - by using light projections through an overhead projector. We asked older people to think about beauty as an attitude, and then tell us their attitude in a few words. These words were written on transparencies and then projected onto their silhouette. The images below were captured at the 2018 Catwalks Against Ageism event. Special thanks to Suzi Arambasic for the photographs.
