The Kiss
The Kiss is a collection of portraits of people living with dementia kissing someone they love. Developed for The Museum of Love, the collection recognises the kiss as a powerful expression of love, affection, respect, friendship and human connection. The kiss can be romantic, intimate, friendly or plutonic. It is a statement of love that can help us to feel connected and valued.
The portraits guide us to an understanding of people living with dementia as fully human, capable of giving and receiving love. They shift our focus from diseased brain to heart – or - from ‘behaviour’ to full citizenship.
