The Margins
Ageism marginalises older people - directly through disrespect, silencing, invisiblizing, devaluing, shaming, segregation, violence and abuse etc. Ageism also marginalises older people indirectly by assuming they are a homogenous group and by failing to combat other the forms of oppression older people face.
The Margins is a place for listening to older people who are marginalised. It is a place where all older people are ‘us’ rather than 'them' - and we understand that everyone has a role to play in marginalisation.
