About GenK
GenK (Generational Kindness) is an all ages movement combatting ageism and building stronger communities through acts of kindness. GenK'ers know ageism hurts and believe our value should not be determined solely on the basis of our age. We need each other and when we work across generations we can change the world - one act of kindness at a time.
GenK workshops
GenK workshops bring together older and younger people - and every age between - for workshops to combat ageism and build stronger communities through acts of kindness for people doing it tough in the local community. Working in intergenerational teams on acts of kindness build meaningful intergeneration connection.
Current workshops
A big thankyou to the Older Women's Network NSW for participating in the pilot workshops (check the GenK Library for more information). Current GenK workshop partners include:
- Hepburn Ageing Disgracefully: workshops have begun in the rural community of Hepburn. Thankyou to Elder Rights Advocacy and the Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre for their support. Stories will be launched in early 2024
- GenK Queer: workshops for LGBTIQ+ Victorians were focused on sharing Hope Cards to combat the harmful impacts of Queerphobia. Thankyou to the Victorian Government Equality Branch and Midsumma Festival for their support. See webpage here
